The Nicaragua site is in line with our corporate responsibility and our sustainability initiatives as part of a long-term business strategy, and we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. Our waste reduction programs reflect close collaboration with stakeholders, innovation, and commitment to our people and our operational excellence. We are committed to reducing waste in our operations, and focusing on reuse and recycling to the greatest extent possible. We have formed a cross-functional "green team" to drive our TRUE certification for zero waste program.

All employees and contractors have received zero waste training and updates on targets and new best practices. "Trash to Treasure" was an event in which employees participated. They inspected all waste streams to generate reduction ideas. Some of the highlights of the site are the composting program and diversion of waste, such as food scraps, reuse of pallets, slip sheets and cardboard cores, AND a high level of commitment from site management and other senior management. These practices prevent waste from going to landfill or incineration, reduce costs and reinforce a zero waste and sustainability culture.

“By 2025, we aim to achieve 100% TRUE certification for our global operations, including manufacturing sites, technology centers, strategic offices and owned warehouses,” says Ann Tracy, Chief Sustainability Officer. “With enthusiastic teams, collaborative partners and this comprehensive approach to waste reduction, we’re confident we can make it happen.”
